This client requested a dread-locked lion, representing his father’s character, with the mane of the lion morphing into a tree, and incorporating the Sun and three stars from the Philippine flag
I chose to have the lions face coming from a mangrove tree, a tree that grows in salt marshes and coastal lowlands in The Philippines and throughout Oceania, and very symbolic of Filipino heritage.
